Lazing on a saturday afternoon

Yesterday I went to visit friend, who in turn got visited by other friends, so it was quite an entertaining afternoon. We ended up taking the dogs for a walk - and I took my camera.

Yesterday, after getting up at 4am to drive to Southampton at 5am to catch the 8am ferry to the Isle of Wight, an hours ferry journey, and then doing an installation of some computer equipment which took us nicely to midday, we went to Amazon World where they had all sorts of animals. Unfortunately as a lot of them are behind bars or glass, it's not always possible to take decent photos. However, for your viewing pleasure, we have:

I'm not entirely sure why there were penguins in Amazon World, but they were still cool to look at!

Recently along the backroads I use to and from work, a number of signs have appeared at various points, which tend to show a smiley face and your speed (if you are at or below the speed limit) or a unhappy face and your speed (if you go above the speed limit). I'm in 2 minds as to whether these are a good idea or not - I keep to the speed limit and for the most part that's OK, however, when the signs tell you that you're going over the speed limit when your speedo says you're below the limit, all it does is just annoy people so that they speed up. It's just so bloody irritating that they don't always get it right. Anyway, the Association of British Drivers have some amusing images to use as desktop wallpaper, taking a dig at speed cameras!

Melting

The problem with summer is that it gets far too hot, and when the sun comes up early it wakes me up at 5am. SO I am currently looking forward to darker and cooler times.

Curry on working...

Nothing much been happening recently, hence the lack of updates. I can however report that my boss's wife makes fantastic curries. I'll be first in the queue if she opened a restaurant!

Camera antics

I managed to yet again go out with my camera today, seeing as the weather was so nice. I was using a new filter (cir-polarising) which I'd brought a few weeks back, so it was about tim to try it out. Here's some of the days better pics:

Hopefully I can find more time to go out with my camera now the weather is nicer...

Golden Crumble
